The Supreme Court of India will hear a plea addressing the transparency issue in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET) PG today, September 23, 2025. Earlier, the hearing was scheduled for September 12, but it was later postponed to this date. In the latest hearing, the SC will deliberate on the medical aspirants' claim regarding the hideous, confusing, and unclear process of revealing answer keys.
Previously, the apex court had instructed the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to release the raw scores of NEET PG, the answer key, and details concerning the normalisation process to ensure transparency and fairness. However, medical aspirants argued that the answer key only included question IDs and not actual questions, which hindered them from verifying their answers and identifying discrepancies in evaluation.
“Publishing answer keys and responses aims to allow candidates to verify answers, challenge discrepancies, and guarantee transparency in the assessment of a crucial national exam,” the plea stated.![]()
