Critics, led by former England internationals Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, slammed Arsenal’s approach as negative, pointing to Arteta’s midfield choices and the decision to bench Eberechi Eze despite Martin Ødegaard’s absence.
But Arteta’s response was cutting: if this was Arsenal with the brakes on, then what does that make 96 minutes of dominance over a Pep Guardiola side?
